Attention Amateur Golfers: How Motivated Are You?

Every golfer wants to play golf well. Whether pro or amateur. We know why the pros want to play well. It’s their living, after all. Play well, win lots of money, live the high life. But what is the motivation for an amateur player to keep going, year after year, through all those inevitable highs and lows of the game? How motivated are you?

Take the survey and add your 2 cents.

Sue Shapcott, golf professional/owner of Shapcott Golf and an Educational Psychology graduate student at Arizona State University, recently asked me to take a short survey she is conducting. Her thesis empirically explores the attrition rate of golfers from a motivational perspective.

The survey does not ask the participants for any personal information and is anonymous (here is the link if you would like to take a look http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.aspx?id=c614176b-883e-492d-b4f8-6202b5199845 ). The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and asks golfers to think about a recent practice session.

I’ve taken the survey. It’s easy and quick and will get you thinking! Survey closes at the end of this month, September 2010. So if you are interested, click on the link above now!

Sue promises to share her results once the survey is complete, and I will publish the information here at golfgurls. Should prove interesting.
