Bionic Golf Gloves for Women – The Performance Series: Review

Recently I was sent several pairs of golf gloves from BionicGloves.com for review. To keep the review as impartial as possible I sent the gloves off to three women golfers who were willing to test them out in a few rounds of golf.

In this post, our volunteer golfer, G.G. gave her honest feedback after wearing a glove from the Performance Series.
. . . . .

Bionic Performance GloveBionic Gloves states on their website that theirs is “The “ONLY” golf glove designed by an orthopedic hand surgeon. And that the Performance Series is “Our most feature-rich glove to date!”

Q. G.G. – First, thanks for taking the time to do this review for golfgurls.com
You received a Bionic Performance Series left handed golf, size medium, to evaluate. Did you like the styling of the glove?
A. Yes. Liked both the styling and the color.

Q. How many rounds of golf did you play wearing the glove? How did the glove perform?
A. I wore the glove for three rounds of golf. It performed well, the grip remained consistent even on days when the weather was cold. I felt like I had a better feel on my club because of the glove.

Q. What about fit and flexibility?
A. When I originally put on the glove it actually felt very tight in the fingers, uncomfortably so. The first time I used it for a round, it stretched out quickly and after two more rounds — it’s almost too large now. I usually purchase a size small, so if I had to choose again, I would choose a smaller size and let it stretch to fit. The glove was flexible enough.

Q. Were you aware of the glove while you were playing, or did it become so comfortable you simply forgot about it?
A. The glove is comfortable, but as the glove stretched out a bit, I became aware of it.

Q. Did the glove wear well?
A. It seems to be very study and well constructed and even though I’ve only used it a few times I do feel that it will last through numerous rounds.

Q. Did you wash the glove?
A. Not yet.

Q. Would you purchase one of these gloves for yourself now that you have tried it?
A. Maybe, but at the high price point I will want to see how well it actually does hold up through more rounds of golf prior to making a decision.

Q. Would you recommend this glove to other women golfers?
A. Yes.

Q. The glove retails for $29.95 – do you think the price is right?**
A. The price of this glove is nearly double the competition. I guess I will have to wait and see how the glove holds up.

Summary: The Bionic Performance Series glove is stylish, well constructed and flexible. Tight when first worn, it stretches as it is worn and provides a good feel of hand on club. Because the glove tends to stretch, buying a smaller size than normal might be advisable. Best idea is to try one on first before purchasing. The price of the glove is on the high side but because it is washable and so well made, it might be worth the price, especially if it lasts through double the rounds of a less expensive glove.

** Editor’s note: Although the suggested retail price for this glove is $29.95 it is available online from a variety of distributors at lower cost. Check out the product now at amazon.com: Bionic Women’s Performance Golf Glove

I’m a new golfer and was wondering about how to choose a glove that will last. I usually buy whatever is on sale but I’ve found out that cheap is not always the best. So even if it costs a little more up front this glove sounds like it might be worth the cost. I like it that you can wash it. I never thought you could do that. Most of the time if my glove gets wet it just shrivels up and I have to throw it away which is just a waste of money. i’ll look for these gloves next time. Thanks.
