Golf In Ireland: We Fly Tonite – Mount Juliet Tomorrow

golf in irelandOur Golf Adventure in Ireland Begins Tonight. Over ten months in the planning, it’s hard to believe it’s about to start.

Here’s a short video of The Mount Juliet Hotel, Spa and Golf Course — where we will spend a couple of nights and play our first round of golf!

. . . . .

. . . . .
I’ve been to the bank and I have my Euros! I have my Irish and U.S. Passports at the ready. I fly out on the U.S. and into Ireland on the Irish passport — that way, no hassle at customs either side. My companion, Noreen, will be flying on her U.S. passport so she will have to get in the long line once we get to Dublin. But I promise to wait for her, and as she looks very innocent, I think we shall be fine. Our escorts, The RedTees will be waiting and then the adventure really begins.

I’ve packed my bags with sweaters, rain gear, two pairs of golf shoes, a down vest and winter golf gloves, so I’m ready for the unexpected. Of course, having packed all the nasty weather gear, the sun and warm weather is sure to prevail! Better to be prepared than play in the cold and wind and be miserable. And of course, I’ve got my casual evening clothes for hitting the pubs after golf.

Our first stop is Powerscourt Estate for lunch and to shake off the dust of travel. Then on to Mount Juliet Hotel, Spa and Golf Course. Tee time is on Wednesday at 11:30. Mid-day may seem a bit late, but considering the temperatures are going to be in the high 50’s F (14 c) we’ll be happy playing in the sun-shine. I’ve checked the weather reports for the upcoming week and it looks like we are in for a stretch of sunny weather! Thank you golf gods! Check the Irish forecast here:  (Thanks to Conor, one of our readers, for that link!)

So that’s it for now. I’ll be posting each day with photos and stories to keep you up to date on our adventures.

Feel free to add your comments and suggestions as we go. I’ll be checking in and would love to hear from you.
