Who’s On the Golf Media Tour Bus?

Heading out for Pittsburg and West Virginia and a great golf adventure.

Five days, five resorts, five rounds of great golf. I’ve got my golf party hat on!

Later today I’m stepping up in more ways than one. Flying out of Boston, but once I reach Pittsburg, and step up on the bus, it’s all business — and fun of course. I am going to be surrounded by some of Golf’s best travel writers. I’ve got to get myself in the right mind set. OOOOohhhhhhmmmmmmm. It’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m certain I will enjoy myself. Just traveling through the northern panhandle of West Virginia, will be exciting for a start.

So who’s on the golf media tour bus?

  • Tony Dear, GolfGetaways
  • John Companiotte, Views Magazine/Portfolio Magazine
  • and moi! Pat Mullaly, Tri State Golfer Magazine/GolfGurls.com

Between published books, news columns, magazines and product reviews, these professionals are going to present some fine networking opportunities for golfgurls.com and I hope to make the most of it all.

Oglebay Resort Premium Room

First night – we stay at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling. I got a note from them the other day letting me know my accommodations are already waiting for me: Premium King with Fireplace. I can get used to this.

We play the Palmer course at Oglebay’s Speidel Golf Club, first thing the next morning. The course ranges in distance from 6,800 yards from the championship tees, to 4,200 yards from the forward tees. Which is good news for me! My home course plays longer than that, so I should be ok as long as I stay out of the woods, sand and water.

Back at you later. Wish me luck.

Looking forward to reading of your travels….and exploits from a very wet and still cold Scotland. Lots of luck, play well but mostly enjoy!
