The top 12 European-born players from the Ladies European Tour (LET) compete against the top 12 American-born players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Founded in 1990 by Karsten Manufacturing Corporation (KMC), makers of PING golf equipment, the Solheim Cup is considered by many to be one of the top events in women’s golf competition.
