I am one of those “trying to improve” lady golfers who had trouble getting the ball up using a popular brand of 5 wood that I bought on sale at a Sport’s chain and I also was using a ladies’ driver of the same brand. Could barely get a 100 yards with the driver. I’m an older lady and I decided after doing some research that the clubs were just too heavy for me to swing easily. Saved my money and first purchased a demo Faith 5 wood – couldn’t believe how I got it in the air and the distance I got with it. Then sprung for a new Serene 3 wood with the lighter shaft. First 3 wood I could ever hit! Even my husband couldn’t believe I was getting it into the air! Last week I went to a golf only store in town and the clerk found me a Serene demo 14 degree driver with the ultralite shaft. When I took it out for the first time, I was amazed at how I hit it. Probably got 15 to 20 more yards than my other driver!! Wish I hadn’t wasted my money on the other clubs.
Glad to hear you find the right clubs for your swing! The flexibility of the shaft makes a big difference and the lighter shafts give you a lot more power if you have a swing speed under 90 or 80 mph.
