What Is The Best Sun Protection Product For Golfers?

Do you protect your skin from the sun when you’re playing golf? Or do you just figure it’s too late in the season to bother? I play golf all summer long. Have done for years. And before that I was out sailing on sunny days all up and down the coastline of Boston. Surprise!  I have the skin to prove it. I used to think these little spots across my nose and cheeks were freckles, but now I realize they are “gifts from the sun!”

How many of us as kids stupidly lathered up with baby oil or #4 sun tan lotion and baked on the beach? I am a little wiser now and know how important it is to take preventive measures to protect my skin when I’m outside hitting those golf balls straight down the fairway! (I only wish they would all go straight — but that’s another story.) I’ve tried a bunch of products. Some were too greasy and clogged my skin, some clumped up or turned into liquid that smeared on unevenly. I even thought about buying that self-tanning stuff to blend my “golf ankles” and “farmer’s tan” arms with the rest of my exposed-to-the-sun body parts, but they streak and turn bright orange too and promise no protection. Not a good idea.

So what to do?

There’s a great product on the market today that goes a very long way to help protect skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It’s called med|3 (Med3 Dermaceuticals). Back in the early part of this golf season, the owner of med|3, Barbara Morrison, wrote and suggested golfgurls.com might want to do a product review of their sun protection line. I was happy to oblige, and am very glad I did. I’ve been using their moisturizer every morning for more than a month and have passed around samples to several golfers with whom I play. Each of us has only praise for this product line.

med|3 comes with a great reputation and a full  product line which includes: collagen complex, skin revitalizing serum, hydrating moisturizer, exfoliating cleanser and whitening cream (which has gone a long way to make my skin look a lot less “blotchy.”) Partnered with Ladies Links Fore Golf, the Official Online Amateur Community of the LPGA, med|3 has developed a formulation that brings skin a new, vibrant, healthy quality at the same time it protects from the harmful UVA rays of the sun that are most responsible for aging and skin cancer. They promise “Healthy, Radiant Skin At Any Age! And the products work. (You can read the facts of their research and all the product details here at their website: www.med3derm.com)

What I can tell you is that my skin feels great and looks better since using med|3 products. The two women golfers who also reviewed the product report back that it lives up to its promise of healthy, radiant skin.

It’s all positive. We give med|3 five tees! And recommend you try this product line. Protect your skin!

Where can you buy these great skin care products? Go to the med|3 online store.
