Wouldn’t it be great if you could just drop everything, grab your golf clubs and head out for that dream golf course destination you’ve been waiting to play?
We all need a break from the day-to-day once in a while. And golfers always consider their “time-away” destination in terms of what golf courses are nearby. But planning such a great vacation takes time and $$$$.
I just came across a website (thank you Karen of AdventuresOnline.com) that you might find worth investigating. What caught my eye was their tag line:
Sink a Hole-In-One — Not Your Wallet!
VRBO from HomeAway helps you plan your destination, and rent a vacation home near some of the best golf destinations in the country.
|• Augusta, GA||• Southampton, NY|
|• Pebble Beach, CA||• Bandon, OR|
|• Saint Petersburg, FL||• Sedona, AZ|
|• Seattle, WA||• Reno, NV|
|• Hilton Head Island, SC|
Why spend money on a hotel room when a beautiful vacation home can be your “home away from home” while you relax and play?
For example, I’ve got a wild fantasy to play Pebble Beach. I went on the VRBO website and here is one opportunity I found: a fabulous house (sleeps 8 – 12 good friends)
“Just minutes away from the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course, the 3 bedroom/3.5 bath main residence, including a detached guesthouse with 1 bedroom/1 bath and studio kitchen offers Pacific Ocean views from nearly every room.” The cost is $6,000/week, but if you get 8 golfing buddies together, that’s less than $800/week for each—a lot less than a hotel room. Plus you get to relax with great ocean views! Click here to check out the listing.
Or how about playing golf in the beautiful red hills of Sedona, AZ? Bring along 3 friends and stay at this fabulous home with spectacular views. With a max rate “on-season” of $3,500…. with 4 people splitting the cost, at less than $500 for the week.
It all sounds like a great idea. Forget buying the condo on the golf course for those twice a year vacations you never have time to take. Rent a vacation home, travel anywhere you wish, play on some of the best golf courses there are. And do it all in style!
Please note: GolfGurls.com has no connection or affiliation with VRBO, and no personal experience with their service, but it seemed like a great concept, worth passing on to our readers.
Have you ever used a vacation home for a golf vacation? Was it a great experience for you?
