This Is One Golf Ball That Does Go The Distance For A Good Cause

I was recently asked to test out the new Pinnacle Gold Ribbon golf ball and have a few friends try it out as well. Of course I said I’d be happy to do a review and post the results. Every golfer is looking for the next great golf ball that will really help his or her game and I am no exception. Pinnacle sent me a few sleeves and I passed the balls around to my Tee Club at our last golf trip to Hilton Head. We played at The Westin Savannah Harbor. A nice course with wide fairways and lots of challenges.

Take Our Travel for Golf SurveyBefore heading out I asked each golfer to check out the ball for feel and performance. I wanted to compare their experience against the “Pinnacle Promise.”

The Pinnacle Promise  Experience Pinnacle performance and style in a golf ball designed to help you play better and enjoy the game even more. Pinnacle Gold Ribbon has a high energy core and soft cover that combine to deliver the extra distance you want along with soft feel and control for those finesse shots around the green. It’s what makes the Pinnacle Gold Ribbon such an exceptional value.

The Pinnacle Advantage  The Pinnacle Gold Ribbon golf ball gives you technology and consistent quality that you can trust.

  • Long distance on all shots
  • Consistent ball flight for better carry
  • Short game control for finesse around the greens

And what were the results: After 18 holes, most golfers said they enjoyed playing with the Pinnacle and it seemed to help the short game for some. However, one player commented that the soft cover was one reason she did not usually use Pinnacle Balls. “They seem to knick and get cut very easily. And that seems to affect my distance, especially off the tee.”

Another golfer made a point that she liked the pink color as it made it easier to find her ball when it went off track. Everyone appreciated Pinnacle’s support for the Komen For the Cure of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

About price and availability: The new Pinnacle Gold Ribbon is available in Bright White and Clear Pearlescent Pink, along with the flagship Pinnacle Gold, which will be available in Bright White and High Optix Yellow. All four models will began shipping October 1 with an MSRP of $20 per 15-ball pack ($15.99 MAP).

The new Pinnacle Gold Ribbon got mixed reviews but overall was a good ball to play. We give it 3 1/2 Tees.
