No matter what your final golf score totals, playing golf on the Druids Glen Golf Course in Ireland is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable events of your golfing career! Druids Glen is a championship course, host to the Irish Open and one of the most beautiful courses in the country. The fairways are wide, but with water on many holes, it is a challenging course. It also has its share of hills, with waterfalls and a gorge you have to cross by suspension bridge.
We were joined this third day by a friend of our host, Helen Cosgrove, who is one of the coordinators for the Solheim Cup. She teamed up with Noreen and I paired up with Liz Hurley for match play. By the end of the front nine we were all square, but the water and woods caught my ball once or twice on the back nine and our team fell by two. Still it was a great time. And I am most proud to say I got a birdie on the 17th, an island green surrounded by both sand and water. That’s a shot I’ll keep in mind going forward.
If you are ever in Ireland, Druids Glen is a must play course.
If you have played the course, add a comment or two below. Love to hear what you thought of it.
Good to read your site… It’s so interesting. Myra
I just got a chance to look at your post! WOW WOW WOW! Ok it is on my list to play in the future. I really hope my golf game takes me to amazing courses like this one.
A birdie at 17 is awesome! When everyone else has decided to just make it in safe you are birdie hunting! Well played!!!! 🙂
Happy golfing,
Robyn
Have you played courses in Ireland? There are so many great ones to choose from. We lucked out with our hosts, the redtees and landed some great tee times at four of the best courses on the isle.
Well played girls and what a birdie on the 17th!
Great fun and no rain. Enjoy the rest of your stay and see you back here again (maybe September for the Solheim!)
Thanks Helen, it was brilliant! playing with you. Would love to be back in September. What a time it would be!
