The #1 Fastest Way To Lower Your Golf Score

If you want to improve your golf game this season, practice your putting!

Do This And You Will Lower Your Golf Score – Guaranteed!

If you have ever discussed the basics of golf with an avid golfer they will have no doubt mentioned that developing a good putt is extremely important. This is all well said but how do you go about learning how to improve your putt? The obvious answer is practice, but practicing is nowhere near as much fun as actually playing a round of golf. Not many golfers make time to practice but those who do will see vast improvements in a relatively short time.

Practice putting can be fun. Here is one putting drill you and your friends can play as a competition before your next round:

The majority of golfers play a putt shot from within eight feet of the hole. This has been shown to be the distance where you have the best chance of sending the ball into the hole in just one shot. If an experienced golfer can learn to perfect this shot there is no reason why you can’t too.

With just a little effort you can improve your putt shot. The following drill is a good one to practice with.

You will want to set up three different tee-off spots. Place your balls at the following distances from the hole, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft. We recommend using 12 or so golf bowls divided between the three tee-off spots. The drill consists of putting the ball from each distance until you are able to send them all into the hole using one shot only.

Remember to practice from the different sides of the hole as this will help you develop good putting skills from your left and right sides.  This simple drill done on a consistent basis will really help you learn how to improve your putt.

For beginners or those of you who are just starting to learn the basics of golf, practice on a golf course that has fairly flat greens. By using a flatter green you will increase your chances of getting good shots in and this will go a long way in building your confidence levels. Once you have become competent on this course then you can start using holes that are a little more of a challenge. When practicing golf drills go to your local golf course when it is quieter as this will give you more time to practice without being disturbed.

One key point when practicing any type of golf drill is to always play the ball from the point at which it comes to rest. You would have to do this in a game of golf so why not practice this way too? Challenge yourself to take fewer shots with each practice session.

Another aspect of learning how to putt well is to learn how to judge distances. When you hit a ball try and estimate the distance it travels. This is another good drill to get into the habit of practicing as it will help you improve all your golf shots.

The next time you visit your golf course put a little time aside to study your fellow golfers. Pay attention to how the approach their golf ball, look at the position they place their feet into and study their golf swing. Don’t look away once they have hit the ball, watch the ball and see how it reacts for them. Put what you learn into action the next time you take a swing and see if it doesn’t help your play in some way or other.

Learning how to become a good golfer means that you should have a good level of self confidence in your game. When it is time to play your next round of golf think of the positive aspects of how well you play and don’t dwell on the negatives. When it comes time to make a shot that you are uncertain of approach the shot with a positive outlook, and play your best shot no matter what the outcome may be. You played to the best of your ability and your ability will continue to grow over time.
