The PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando is this week and I’m spending today sorting through things and packing my bags. Got a long list of vendors I want to see and visit and have several interviews lined up. My goal is to get you the latest information on great products for today’s woman golfer, i.e. equipment, fashions and all those extras we stuff in our golf bags. There is a lot to see and I’ll be taking my time going up and down the aisles, collecting samples for future reviews and making connections.

The first day of the event is Outdoor Demo Day. Shuttle buses take us to Orange County National for a full day of demonstrations and a chance to try out some equipment at the country’s largest driving range! The weather is going to be perfect so I’m bringing my shoes, gloves and hat to spend the day in the sun.

The next three days are spent indoors at the Convention Center, visiting the vendors, interviewing and taking in all the glitz and glamour. There are a lot of celebrity golfers who are at the show. Annika Sorenstam is giving this year’s keynote address on Wednesday morning. That should be a great beginning.

One of the most interesting sections is the new products area. This is where inventors of the latest and greatest gizmos show off their stuff for all to see and try. Some of the items are interesting, and a few really note worthy. In any event they are all worth a look.

I know Callaway and Taylor have some new clubs designed just for women. One of the big items from last year was the “VOICE” – a GPS unit from Golf Buddy you clip on your hat or collar. Golf Buddy wrote to tell me they have a new product they are introducing at the show this year. I’m eager to see it.
