What’s The One Shot In Golf You Never Forget?

One Shot You’ll Never Forget

I was playing golf on Monday with a couple of friends… (playing badly unfortunately). It was one of those days when nothing seemed to land where I aimed. Blame in on the heat (closing in on 90 degrees all day)! But after six holes of misery a magical moment happened.

The par-3 7th hole is nasty at Hyannis Golf Club. With an elevated green that is a lot further away than it looks and surrounded on both sides with bunkers and a lot of brush along the back side of the green, you have to play this hole perfectly or you’ll end up in the trees, the sand or the gunk.

Jeanne hit first into the right hand bunker, I hit second into the sand on the left. Finally, Janet stepped up to the tee and hit her ball up onto the green and it disappeared. Not one of the three of us saw it land and roll and we assumed the worst… it had gone over the green and rolled into the bushes along the far end.

Needless to say we cheered and took a picture of the moment. It will be one shot Janet never forgets, I’m sure.

Have you ever made a hole-in-one? When, where, how? I surely hope you celebrated. Add your comment in the space below and let’s all celebrate with you!
